'Social Anxiety and Me!' is an educational tool for children to learn about and understand Social Anxiety. It is based on personal childhood experience, aiming to teach what I wish I knew then.
Normalising these discussions from a young age will help both children and adults recognise Social Anxiety for what it is - a treatable mental disorder, rather than minimising it and reducing it to simply 'being shy'. We must become more aware of the childhood signs and symptoms of Social Anxiety and encourage getting professional help earlier. This lowers the chances of it taking full control and becoming debilitating later in life.
